Rajasthan AYUSH UG Counselling 2026: Eligibility, NEET Cutoff, Domicile Rules & Registration

Ayush 2026

If you have qualified NEET UG 2026 and are seriously considering AYUSH courses Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, or Naturopathy and Yoga in Rajasthan, you have come to the right place. Rajasthan runs one of the most structured, fully online centralized AYUSH admission processes in India, and getting clarity on the eligibility rules before you register can save you from expensive, time consuming mistakes.

This guide is the first of a three part series based on the official Information Booklet for BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BNYS Admission Counselling issued by the UG/PG AYUSH Counselling Board, Government of Rajasthan. In this part, we cover what Rajasthan AYUSH counselling is, who conducts it, which courses are included, the NEET cutoff you need, eligibility and domicile rules, and how registration works.

What Is Rajasthan AYUSH UG Counselling 2026?

The Rajasthan AYUSH UG Counselling 2026 is the official centralized admission process for four undergraduate medical courses under the AYUSH system:

  • BAMS — Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (4½ years + 1 year compulsory internship)
  • BHMS — Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (4½ years + 1 year compulsory internship)
  • BUMS — Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (4½ years + 1 year compulsory internship)
  • BNYS — Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science (4½ years + 1 year compulsory internship)

The counselling is conducted by the UG/PG AYUSH Counselling Board, Government of Rajasthan, based at AYUSH Bhawan, Room No. 212-214, Sector-26, Pratap Nagar, Jaipur — 302033.

Is NEET Mandatory for All AYUSH Courses in Rajasthan?

This is genuinely one of the most searched questions around AYUSH admission in Rajasthan 2026, and the answer is not the same for every course.

NEET UG 2026 is mandatory for BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS admissions. This is governed under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, and the National Commission for Homoeopathy.

BNYS is different. As per Ministry of AYUSH Order No. F.NO. R 14011/06/2018-EP-II dated 25.02.2019, NEET qualification is not compulsory for BNYS. However, NEET-qualified candidates are given first priority. Candidates who did not appear or qualify NEET are considered in second priority based on their Senior Secondary (PCB) scorecard merit.

One more important distinction: 100% of BNYS seats in Rajasthan are filled by the State AYUSH UG/PG Counselling Board. There is no All India Quota for BNYS.

How Are AYUSH Seats Distributed Between AIQ and State Quota?

Before registering, you need to understand whether to apply through the central AYUSH counselling (AACCC) or the state counselling board (or both).

For BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS in Government AYUSH colleges: The 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats are filled by AACCC (Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee), Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi. The remaining 85% State Quota seats are filled by the Rajasthan AYUSH Counselling Board.

For BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS in Private AYUSH colleges: Both the 15% AIQ seats AND the 85% State Quota seats are filled by the Rajasthan AYUSH Counselling Board — not by AACCC. So if you are targeting private AYUSH colleges in Rajasthan, everything goes through the state board.

Special Central Pool Seats: Two seats in MMM Government Ayurveda College, Udaipur are under Central Government nomination — one for Tripura and one for Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Five seats in the Post Graduate Institute of Ayurveda, Jodhpur are reserved for North East state candidates. These are not part of general counselling.

NEET 2026 Minimum Cutoff for Rajasthan AYUSH Admission

Rajasthan Domicile Rules for AYUSH UG Counselling 2026

The domicile question is where most out-of-state candidates get confused. Here is the full picture.

You are considered a Rajasthan domicile candidate — and are eligible for all types of seats including Government, Management, and NRI — if any one of the following ten conditions applies to you:

Condition I — Residency + Study: Your natural father or mother has continuously lived in Rajasthan for the last 10 years AND you have studied in a recognized educational institution in Rajasthan for at least 5 years during that period.

Condition II — Rajasthan Resident Studying Elsewhere: You are a bonafide resident of Rajasthan but studied outside the state.

Condition III — Government Employee's Child: You are the son or daughter of a serving or retired employee of the Government of Rajasthan, or an All India Services officer on the Rajasthan cadre who has served more than 3 years with the state government.

Condition IV — Government Body Employee's Child: You are the son or daughter of a permanent employee (serving or retired) of Government Undertakings, Corporations, Improvement Trusts, Municipal Bodies, Councils, Panchayat Samitis, or cooperative bodies constituted under a Rajasthan government act, with at least 3 years of service.

Condition V — State University Employee's Child: You are the son or daughter of a permanent employee of any State University or the Secondary Board of Education, Rajasthan, who has worked in Rajasthan for at least 3 years before the application deadline.

Condition VI — Defence Personnel (Rajasthan Origin): You are the natural son or daughter of a serving or retired Defence personnel who is of Rajasthan origin, irrespective of posting location. A certificate from the employer confirming Rajasthan as the state of origin at the time of entry into service is required.

Condition VII — Defence Personnel (Posted in Rajasthan): You are the natural son or daughter of a serving Defence personnel currently posted in Rajasthan at the time of the application deadline.

Condition VIII — Para-Military (Rajasthan Origin): You are the son or daughter of a serving or retired Para-Military Forces personnel of Rajasthan origin, regardless of posting.

Condition IX — Para-Military (Posted in Rajasthan): You are the son or daughter of a serving Para-Military Forces personnel currently posted in Rajasthan at the time of the application deadline.

Condition X — High Court Judge's Child: You are the son or daughter of a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, provided you submit an undertaking or affidavit confirming that such benefit is not being availed in any other state.

Candidates qualifying under Conditions I through X are eligible for all seat types — Government Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota — across all rounds.

What If You Do Not Qualify Under Conditions I–X?

You fall under Condition XI — Other Category. You can still register and participate in counselling, but you will only be considered for allotment against vacant seats after the Rajasthan state merit list is exhausted — typically after Round 2. If you have NRI eligibility, you can apply for NRI quota seats in all rounds regardless of domicile.

Key Points to Remember Before Registering

Before you hit the register button on the official Rajasthan AYUSH counselling portal, keep these five things in mind.

First, your category is permanent once submitted. The category and sub-category you select at registration cannot be changed under any circumstances during the entire counselling process. Make absolutely sure you are selecting the correct category.

Second, upload a clear, recent color photograph. The counselling board is strict about photo quality — a blurry or outdated photo can cause problems during document verification.

Third, BNYS-seeking candidates who did not qualify NEET must still register through the same portal and will be ranked based on PCB scorecard merit separately from NEET-qualified candidates.

Fourth, appearing in NEET UG 2026 does not automatically make you eligible for AYUSH admission. Eligibility is verified at the time of admission, and the counselling board's decision on eligibility is final.

Fifth, keep your login credentials private. The counselling board explicitly states that they are not responsible for misuse of your login details. Do not share your password with anyone.
